We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our finance team. This role will involve supporting the finance department in daily accounting tasks, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring that all financial records are maintained accurately. Job Overview: As a Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of the finance department. Your responsibilities will include maintaining financial records, carrying out reconciliations, and supporting senior accountants with monthly and year-end reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a good communication style. Key Responsibilities: Invoice Processing: Daily processing of UK and French purchase invoices, checking details of invoices to supporting trackers and ensuring all are correctly recorded and filed. Accounts Reconciliation: Weekly reconciliations of bank and supplier reconciliations, resolving any discrepancies. Finance inbox: Management of finance inbox and answering queries from employees and suppliers. Payment runs: Preparing weekly payment runs for supplier payments. Credit control: Chasing overdue accounts and preparing weekly statements to and liaising with agents. Company Credit Card Management: Leading the expenses management of company credit card spend in UK and France and posting onto the accounting system. Reconciliations: Carrying out monthly balance sheet reconciliations for control accounts. Fixed assets: Maintaining the fixed asset register. Financial reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. External audit: Supporting gathering data for external audit. Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems and databases. Tax Compliance: Support the preparation of VAT returns, tax filings, and other compliance-related tasks. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including filing documents, maintaining records, and handling correspondence. Ad-hoc Duties: Undertake any additional tasks or projects assigned by senior finance staff. Requirements: Education: Accountancy qualifications preferred but not essential. Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is essential. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google sheets; experience with accounting software is essential. Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks. Communication: Clear and effective communication skills. Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively. Adaptability : Willingness and ability to learn new IT/accounting systems. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with the finance team and other departments. Language : Some working level of French is preferable.
