Vulnerable children in the UK need your help.
Wherever you work in the Action for Children family, you'll be helping to change the lives of the most vulnerable children in the UK.
Last year, we helped more than 687,000 children and families across the UK. From direct work in communities to national campaigning, we are focused on making sure every child has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.
Why Action for Children?
Working here is more than a job. Everyone in the Action for Children family is passionate about protecting and supporting children. It's the sense of purpose that drives us every single day. Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable children's lives.
A bit about the role.
We provide the Blues programme to 11-19-year-olds young people in schools, colleges and sixth forms across Worcestershire. This is a vital part of our work. We are looking for a motivated Young Person's Practitioner who is committed to supporting young people's mental health to deliver this service in the Sandwell area. You will be part of a national programme across Action for Children's four nations.
Within this service, we also have another mental health and wellbeing programme and workshops, called Bouncing Back, which include exam stress, and resilience. 1 in 10 children in every classroom suffer from a diagnosable mental health disorder. The Blues is an evidenced based CBT influenced programme to support the reduction of anxiety & depression in young people using an early intervention model.
As a Young Practitioner, you'll be:
* Delivering group work to around 500 young people as year as a team.
* Giving young people skills to manage their own emotional wellbeing.
* Working in partnership with schools and colleges.
In the role of Young Persons Practitioner, we're ideally looking for someone who has:
* NVQ3 or equivalent in youth work, working with families, childcare or another relevant field.
* Experience of delivering evidenced based programmes with fidelity.
* Experience of working with young people aged 11-19.
* A commitment to supporting young people's mental health.
* You will need access to a car for travel across the Sandwell area.
Good to know.
