Hiring Now: Senior Design & Project Engineer, Durham / North Yorkshire.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design & Project Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. This role will coordinate all project elements including engineering design, quality, planning, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
The ideal candidate will ensure projects remain within budget and meet the requirements of the customer.
Key Responsibilities:
* Primary contact for the client, involving them in the contract execution and managing their expectations during contract fulfillment.
* Assist and Support the Engineering Manager on delivering company projects from initial conception to final completion, ensuring the projects are accurately completed to schedule.
* Support Design and Project Engineers on the delivery of their projects become secondary contact for clients when necessary and ensuring contract fulfillment.
* Determines client and project specifications, objectives, schedule and responsibilities, by reviewing client documentation, identifying customer requirements conferring with the management team.
* Maintain financial diligence through the execution of budget and cost control to help meet projected profitability targets and business results
* Manage suppliers and contractors to maintain project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems.
* Evaluates systems and products by designing and conducting testing programmes and studying customer requirements.
* Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling and installing components.
* Prepares data by collecting, analysing and summarising information for installation, testing, quality, packing, and weekly reports.
* Supports sales with the technical analysis of enquiries, evaluating major enquiries, preparing the technical offer, analysing project specifications and designing the technical solution.
Requirements:
* Degree/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
* Demonstrated leadership experience.
* Experience in a technical role involving project planning and cost control
* Strong knowledge of CAD modelling and drawings with experience in design analysis. (Experience with Solidworks is a plus)
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes including, machining and fabrication as a minimum.
* Must have excellent understanding of Quality, Environment, Health and Safety Standards, with a focus on creating improvement standards that are based on the practices of root cause analysis
