Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively. The successful applicant will have experience in commercial driving.
Duties
* Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
* Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
* Load and unload cargo, ensuring that it is secured properly for transport.
* Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that occur during transit.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
* Manage routes efficiently to optimise delivery times while ensuring compliance with all safety standards.
* Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or questions from clients.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Commercial Driver or Delivery Driver is essential.
* Familiarity with this type of work is highly desirable.
* A valid HGV licence is required for this position.
* Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
* A good understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures is an advantage.
