Who we want… (Requirements)
* Bachelor’s degree in occupational or environmental health and safety (or similar) and a minimum of 5 years of related construction safety experience or training OR a minimum of 5-10 years of related construction safety experience or training.
* Possess leadership skills that help cultivate a cohesive and successful team.
* Light/heavy industrial construction experience.
* Must have the ability to identify known potential exposures and lead the implementation of corrective actions.
* Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
* Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
* NCSO and Advanced First Aid certifications are strongly preferred.

What we expect… (Essential Functions)
* Serve as on-site Safety Officer for assigned projects.
* Monitor and inspect the job site for health and safety compliance, identifying any potential hazards that may result in injuries or accidents.
* Implement all proper safety and health policies onsite, discussing any issues with the project manager, contractor, and other safety professionals.
* Provide health and safety training and information to all employees onsite to ensure that site safety requirements are being met at all times.
* Establish and manage a jobsite safety culture in accordance with Gray’s safety program.
* Assist in onboarding and mentoring of new site safety team members on your assigned project.
* Review, evaluate, and make determinations on contractor site safety programs.
* Mentor contractors to help assure compliance with Gray guidelines.
* Maintain owner and Gray specified safety records. Assist in developing project-specific site safety plans and an emergency response plan.
* Confer with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.
* Other duties may be assigned.
