We are excited to offer the opportunity to join the Chiltern Adult Mental Health Team as a Receptionist on a job share basis, working 2 days per week at our Amersham location.
This position is ideal for a well-organised, conscientious, and friendly individual who thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering a high standard of service. As a key member of the frontline team, you will play a crucial role in supporting both staff and patients.

Main duties of the job
* Deal with all enquiries in a professional and empathetic manner, via telephone, face-to-face or written contact.
* As the first point of contact, you will need to consider a wide range of information to ensure each patient's needs are progressed or referred on, including initial handling of complaints.
* Use advanced communication skills when dealing with patients who may have special needs or exhibit challenging behaviour.
* Use a networked computerised system to manage multiple diaries and input patient information.
* Obtain personal details and other sensitive social and medical information, often of a complex nature, handling all information in accordance with relevant legislation and with high regard for confidentiality.
* Provide information and advice about Adult Mental Health services and access to NHS emergency Mental Health, including out of hours services.
* Receive and transmit information electronically using the Oxfordshire networked e-mail system, and provide general clerical support, including letter writing and correspondence when necessary.
The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Literacy and Numeracy GCSEs or equivalent
* Confident with Microsoft Office 365
Experience
* Experience of keyboard and willingness to learn health specific computerised systems
* Experience of management of appointments and accurate handling of cash, receipts and banking procedures
* Experience of working with health IT systems/reception work
Personal Qualities
* Able to work effectively as part of a team
* Adaptable to changing circumstances and flexible in approach to working
* Self-motivated and able to use own initiative and to work under pressure
* Effective organisational skills including the ability to prioritise, plan and complete work
