The Brain Cancer Virtual Institute (BCVI) at the CRUK Cambridge Centre is seeking a programme manager for maternity cover. The Brain Cancer Virtual Institute (BCVI), led by Mr Stephen Price and Mr Richard Mair, conducts research to better understand and treat brain tumours. It unites the CRUK Children's Brain Tumour Centre of Excellence, aligned CRUK Brain Tumour Research Award, key elements of the Cambridge CRUK RadNet Unit and the Minderoo Precision Brain Tumour Programme. Brain tumours have been identified as a cancer of unmet need by CRUK. Average survival for glioblastoma is poor and little has changed in treatment options over the past 30 years. The BCVI mission is to improve brain cancer outcomes for the patients of today and tomorrow. The BCVI is a new virtual institute within the CRUK Cambridge Centre and is rapidly developing as an exciting centre for neuro-oncology research in the region. With the Minderoo Precision Brain Tumour Programme as a central resource, the aim is to develop a new model for decision making and clinical care, along with key connections to new research themes and the Integrated Cancer Medicine Programme. www.crukcambridgecentre.org.uk/neuro Working closely with a wide variety of stakeholders, including clinicians and researchers, this post is a great opportunity to develop project management skills, supporting the programme leads in setting strategy, managing budgets, communications and reporting. The successful candidate will also join a wider team of programme managers within the CRUK Cambridge Centre, working on cross programme initiatives and wider Centre objectives.
