The School and Role
We are working with a friendly, community driven secondary school located in Benfleet who are seeking a Design Technology Technician. We are seeking Design Technology Technicians with a background in construction or in woodwork to support the department and ensure that lessons run smoothly.
As a Design Technology Technician you will be responsible for preparing practical lessons, assisting during lessons where necessary and clearing up after practical lessons. You will be part of a supportive and experienced team, working in a well-resourced department to create engaging, challenging, and meaningful learning experiences. The successful Design Technology Technician will be organised, flexible and have the highest standards for student’s health and safety.
Requirements
The desired Design Technology Technician will;
Have good GCSEs and educated to NVQ Level or equivalent.
Have experience working with machinery and tools within the construction or carpentry industry.
Ensure the application of Health & Safety procedures and to raise awareness of Health & Safety issues in the environment.
Ensure demonstration materials, equipment and provisions are available for use by the teaching staff.
To work alongside students in preparing materials for examination coursework under the direction of teaching staff.
