A vacancy for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Assistant with a bias for Mechanical work has arisen within the Estates Maintenance Department at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The post is based at Hull Royal Infirmary but may require working at all Trust properties; therefore, the applicant must hold a full driving license for driving duties.
Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.
Main duties of the job
The main job purpose is to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to carry out basic repairs and planned maintenance tasks throughout the Hospital and other premises. The vacancy requires participation in a partial shift system Rota, and the successful candidate will be required to provide sickness and annual leave cover for various sections and stores duties.
The successful candidate will have relevant technical qualifications or equivalent experience and must demonstrate experience in maintenance activities, including Portable Electrical Appliance Testing and/or Steam Boiler operation and maintenance. The department is committed to the ongoing training of staff to a high standard to comply with legislation and ensure that the patient environment is maintained safely, cost-effectively, and efficiently.

Carry out routine and non-routine base level craftsman’s planned, corrective, and breakdown maintenance work using own initiative within Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and associated properties. Observing all relevant safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all patients, visitors, and staff.
