We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision / Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Harlow. This full-time contract role is ideal for an individual passionate about supporting young people who may face challenges in mainstream education. Working within an alternative provision setting, you will play a key role in helping students re-engage with learning and achieve personal growth.
As a Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide a structured and nurturing environment, encouraging students to thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted support to students with behavioural or social-emotional challenges.
* Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and managing the classroom.
* Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom setting.
* Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
* Foster a supportive and safe learning environment for all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience in a PRU or alternative provision setting is desirable but not essential.
* Strong communication skills, with patience and empathy.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
