As a Chef Team Leader at Sodexo in HM Naval Base, Portsmouth, your culinary expertise and organizational excellence will lead an entire food and beverage production. You'll be providing this service for our armed forces personnel, improving their quality of life every day!
What you’ll do:
1. Lead the kitchen in the absence of your senior colleagues and provide support for the production team.
2. Direct the preparation duties to the commis chefs, chef de parties, and other kitchen staff.
3. Assist in ordering, prep, stock control, running service, and clean down.
4. Ensure strict adherence to all EHO guidelines and systems.
5. Improve improvisation and maximize the use of existing stocks where necessary.
6. Work with the FOH team to drive service excellence.
7. Work on the range with the kitchen team to train, guide, and develop.
8. Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
9. Prepare, produce, and present food to the highest standard.
What you bring:
1. NVQ level 2/3 or experience working in a busy kitchen environment.
2. Basic IT skills, with experience in Microsoft packages.
3. Experience in menu planning and production.
4. Exposure to bulk cooking.
5. The enthusiasm to develop and learn new skills.
6. A positive and approachable manner.
7. If you have experience in the above, but don't hold experience as a 'sous chef', we would still love to hear from you.
