Master Scheduler Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 Position Summary: The Master Scheduler will create, manage, and maintain the master production schedule and support the Director of Operations in delivering customer projects on time. Essential Functions: Manage and maintain the master schedule Enter new orders and their associated process routers into the master schedule in a timely manner. Develop the optimum work breakdown structure for shop flow. Develop and implement visual systems to clarify part flow through the facilities. Identify process constraints and develop solution alternatives with the production team. Make outsourcing recommendations. Align material and manufacturing resources with the Director of Operations to deliver projects on time. Works with purchasing to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and purchase components Direct, track and keep projects flowing from operation to operation through the shop until completion. Run the daily production meeting, with the Director of Operations, Shop Supervisors, Project Managers and key production personnel. Proactively identify issues that impede on-time project delivery and develop solution alternatives with the production and material personnel. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Education, Knowledge, Training, Work Experience: BS/BA degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, Operations Material Management desired 5 years related or a minimum 6 years working in a manufacturing environment with hands on responsibility in Materials Management, Production Control, Capacity Planning, MRP and Scheduling related functions Experience with Lean manufacturing techniques in production and planning desired. Direct experience using Kanban and supermarket processes Prior master scheduling experience and working knowledge in a manufacturing environment and demand management techniques is required, emphasis on multi-level product structures with complex timing and offsets Strong leadership skills to aid with motivating the team to focus on the right things. Solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities Well versed in the use of MRP/ERP systems with particular emphasis on scheduling modules. Strong computer skills including Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint Excellent written and verbal communication skills Physical Demands and Environment: Office environment with extensive exposure to the manufacturing floor. Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Requires a degree of computer work and the necessary vision to see requisite work. Must have the dexterity to handle various objects necessary to complete the essential functions.
