We are now looking for a Manual machinist - late shift to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent and the preferred location is in Havant, UK.
What you will be doing
The ADR cell encompasses a range of Manual machines manufacturing components for Seal assemblies and spares. This position is in the ADR area using Grinding machines, Milling machines, turning machines, and Lapping machines and would encompass the machining of materials such as Inconel, Stainless Steels, Carbon, and composites.
Business demand will drive the required manpower and skills at any given time when instruction will be given for duties to be carried out.
Flexibility is key for this position with a wide variety of duties to be carried out in a safe accurate manner working to our OTIF target.
As Manual machinist, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
* Drilling machines
* Lapping machines
* Working to tight tolerances and using a variety of measuring equipment.
* Working with Engineering drawings and processes.
* Working with highly resistant materials: Inconel etc.
* Communicate with all ops teams to ensure proactive actions are taken to meet OTIF.
* Continuous improvement relating to process and procedures.
* All duties carried out to be done in a safe manner following H&S safety procedures.
* Any other duties that may be required.
To be successful in this role we expect you to have/be:
* Experience of working in a tool room environment
* Experience with grinding machines [Surface grinder]
* Assemble and fitting experience
* 5yrs experience in an Engineering environment.
* Understand Health & Safety environment/procedures.
* Mechanical/assembly aptitude.
* Read and understand drawings.
* Ability to communicate effectively within a small team
* Ideally educated to college standard or solid experience working in the manufacturing industry.
The late shift working pattern is as follows:
* Monday – 14:30 – 22:30
* Tuesday – 14:30 – 22:30
* Thursday – 14:30 – 22:30
* Friday – 12:30 – 20:30
