We are working with an NHS Trust in the South East in their search to appoint an Interim Income and Contracts Manager.
The role will start ASAP and will be for 3 months initially with an expectation of extension and will be at Band 8b under NHS Agency Capped rates. The role involves hybrid working with some on-site and remote working each week.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Act as the Trusts' expert on income and the Trusts commissioning contracts and be responsible for interpreting and implementing all aspects of contracting including fully quantifying the impact of any changes on the Trusts' income base, for both short and medium term plan;
2. Provide detailed financial support in respect to income to inform the Trusts financial planning processes including input into budget setting, business cases, business plans and long term financial models;
3. Responsible for accurately monitoring, forecasting and planning income levels for the Trust and will play a key role in the annual contracting process;
4. Act as a senior point of contact within the Trust regarding the general management of contracts with commissioners e.g. Clinical Commissioning Groups, NHS England, Local Authorities, and independent healthcare organisations. To have in-depth knowledge of the National Tariff Payment System (NTPS) and provide advice and support to business units as to the impact on activity and income of introducing new, or amending existing, pathways with reference to relevant guidance.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Qualified Accountant (CCAB) & member of a relevant professional body;
2. In-depth knowledge of the current NHS agenda and challenges;
3. Experience of business planning or annual planning cycle;
4. Substantial experience of NHS payment systems and commissioning contract processes;
5. Experience of annual business planning and reporting against agreed plans;
6. Comfortable interpreting and summarising complex guidance documents such as the National tariff payment system documents.
