Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Project Manager to lead and coordinate mechanical projects across London, primarily within the commercial sector. Ideally, the candidate will have hands-on experience, having progressed from a technical background such as pipefitting or plumbing, and a strong grasp of building services. This role is suited to a proactive individual who excels at ensuring projects meet quality standards, are delivered on time, and stay within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Oversight : Lead mechanical projects valued between £20k and £500k, ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery across all phases.
* Team Leadership : Manage and coordinate project teams, assigning tasks and ensuring safety and productivity on site.
* Stakeholder Collaboration : Work closely with clients, contractors, and subcontractors, maintaining strong, clear communication throughout each project phase.
* Budgeting & Scheduling : Develop and manage project budgets and timelines, tracking costs and progress to ensure financial control.
* Quality Assurance : Guarantee compliance with industry standards, British Standards, and regulatory requirements, focusing on safety and quality.
* Problem Solving : Quickly address any issues or changes that arise, adapting plans to keep projects on track.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
* Building Services Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of building services, particularly plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
* Financial Management : Experience with budgeting, procurement, and financial tracking for mechanical projects.
* Mechanical Engineering Proficiency : Strong technical skills in mechanical engineering relevant to commercial projects.
* Organizational Skills : Excellent project management abilities, capable of handling budgets, schedules, and resource allocation efficiently.
* Leadership : Effective team leader with the ability to motivate, support, and guide technical staff.
* CSCS Certification : Possession of a Gold or Black CSCS card.
* Technical Background : Preferably hands-on experience as a pipefitter, plumber, or similar trade, with progression into management.
* On-Site Management : Proven experience in on-site project management, demonstrating successful delivery on schedule and within budget.
