We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join our outstanding Pastoral Support team, as a Pastoral Support Tutor to provide pastoral and academic support to our full-time learners on a 1:1 and group basis including weekly sessions of the tutorial programme. The work you do as a Pastoral Support Tutor will support and motivate our students to achieve their full potential at college, ensuring they have an outstanding and fulfilling experience at college. Key Responsibilities of our Pastoral Support: Motivating each individual learner within a caseload and to monitor their progress against their learning goals. Encouraging each student to engage personal evaluation, reflection and target setting, using value added to measure progression (where appropriate). To set, in partnership with individual students, course teams and other stakeholders (including, for example, employers, social care and parents) challenging SMART targets to support progression. Fully utilising College information systems to record, monitor and track learners within a cohort of tutees. Rigorously tracking and monitoring the attendance of each student within a cohort of tutees across all elements of their programme (including Maths and English as appropriate) and, where necessary, take action to improve poor individual performance. This will include sustained liaison with the student and key stakeholders. Rigorously tracking and monitoring the attendance of each student identified ‘at risk’ and take appropriate action to rectify poor individual performance. Where appropriate, providing individual support through the Student Referral Process in line with the CCG’s Positive Behaviour Policy. Identifying student needs and facilitate access to appropriate services to support achievement, such as additional support, careers advice and the enrichment programme.
