Key responsibilities/duties of the role Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes. Installing and configuring new hardware and software. Analysing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems. Introducing and integrating new technologies into existing data centre environments. Performing routine audits of systems and software. Performing backups & restores as required. Answering technical queries and dealing with users queries. Responsibility for security. Responsibility for documenting the configuration of the computing & networking infrastructure. Troubleshooting any reported problems. System & network performance tuning. Ensuring that the infrastructure is up and running. Planning for and responding to service outages. Work with our 3rd party suppliers to aid in problem determination. Additional Skills Capable of Server administration Windows (GPO, AD) Understanding of Hyper- V Virtualization technologies Strong Understanding of Software and Patch management systems WSUS and SCCM Working understanding of Windows Active Directory Management A good working understanding of Microsoft Exchange Server An understanding and working knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP Capable of producing detailed, accurate design documentation including procedure documents. Understanding and working knowledge of Azure technologies & Office 365 administration
