We are currently looking for a Core Senior Support Worker ("Core" is given to the name of the individual central to the running of the service when on shift) to join our passionate and dedicated team. Role Overview As a Core Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of our supported living services. You will play an essential role in the daily operations, ensuring that both the individuals we support and the team are provided with the highest standard of care. The role includes, but is not limited to: Key Responsibilities: Overseeing the running of the service(s): Managing day-to-day operations and ensuring that services are delivered in line with care plans. Managing and administering medication: Ensuring the accurate recording and administration of medication as per company policies and procedures. Completing checks and audits: Conducting regular checks and audits to ensure compliance with care standards and safety protocols. Supporting the team: Offering guidance and support to the support workers, and ensuring they are delivering quality care. Assisting with double-up work: Providing support with two-person care as required. Completing handover and signing off PRN medication: Ensuring effective communication during shift handovers and documenting the use of as-required medication. Providing additional support when needed: Supporting individuals who require extra care, particularly when responders are needed following challenging behaviour or restraint incidents. Supporting outside the home setting: You may be required to support individuals outside of their home, including in hospital, on holidays, or even at a police station if necessary. Reporting to the Service Manager: You will report directly to the Service Manager and ensure effective communication within the team. Desired Skills and Qualifications: Experience in a senior support worker or similar role within the health and social care sector. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear and detailed handovers. Experience with medication management and knowledge of health and safety regulations. Ability to manage challenging situations with empathy and professionalism. A commitment to person-centred care and ensuring the dignity of those supported. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is highly desirable. Flexibility and willingness to support people outside the home setting when necessary.
