Required:
* Registered Nurse (Level 1) with current NMC registration
* Previous training management / supervisory experience
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
* Team player
* Satisfactory DBS check
Preferred:
* Experience of WAN (Workforce Analysis) for NMDS-SC
Job Purpose:
Ensure at all times the highest standards of care are delivered to the service users whilst working within the defined company policies and procedures. Ensure all nursing practices are evidence-based and reflect current trends. Work with the Home Manager and other trained nurses in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating quality nursing care. Supervising and training care assistants and ensuring the full and professional delivery of care to the clients.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain up-to-date evidence-based clinical knowledge relevant to client groups cared for within the Home
* Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, staff, and other professionals involved in the care of the clients
* Commit to expanding expertise and professional development
* Understand the role and function of the Care Home
* Serve as an effective team leader and role model
* Make research-based decisions regarding nursing care needs
* Exhibit a flexible approach to working hours
* Teach and facilitate learning for all unqualified care staff
* Audit the care delivered to clients ensuring that all their needs are met
* Carry out duties, including management of the unit, as deemed necessary by the Home Manager
* Inform the Home Manager of any changes in the need of resources
* Be fully conversant with the following NMC codes of practice:
o Professional Code of Conduct
o Complaining about professional misconduct
o Scope of Professional Practice
o Standards for Administration of Medicine
o Standards for Records and Record Keeping
o Confidentiality
o Exercising Accountability
o Guidelines for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities
* Ensure both the Home and the Company nursing interests are met
* Secure all information regarding the Company, employees, and The Mellowes Nursing Home residents
Relationships:
* Coordinate and develop relationships with staff working in the Home
* Act as an ambassador for The Mellowes Nursing Home and motivate staff in applying the Home's values in their daily work

Pay: £18.50-£20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
