The Role
Reporting to Lenvi's Finance Director, the role will also be a key support to the CEO and Chief Revenue Officer in providing financial and commercial decision support to drive the identification and delivery of organic growth.
What you will be doing:
* Evaluate contract and pricing proposals, ensuring appropriate margins in accordance with corporate guidance and ensuring cash optimisation.
* Co-ordinate preparation of and own the process for internal proposals for new business/renewals, obtaining appropriate internal approval within delegated authorities and customer presentations as appropriate.
* Work closely with the Finance Business Partner (Operations) to ensure the business has the resource capacity to deliver commercial performance.
* Pro-actively review commercial performance, whether actual or forecast and, as necessary lead in taking corrective action and/or providing decision support, engaging colleagues from across the business.
* Investment appraisal of commercial and operational proposals and M&A. Subsequent monitoring to ensure delivery of expected benefits.
* Produce insightful and timely periodic reporting, sufficient to enable the business to understand commercial performance.
* Audit CRM system pipeline data for accuracy and completeness, verifying forecast data alongside colleagues for strategic forecasts, annual budget and monthly/weekly rolling forecasts.
* Monitor and interpret competitor activity and financial performance, both current and future proposed, identifying threats and opportunities.
* Evaluate and advise on commission schemes.
* Continually seek to proactively improve processes and systems to support commercial and financial objectives relevant to a business the size of Lenvi, ensuring no revenue leakage.
* Lead and develop team members and colleagues, ensuring individuals and the team perform to the best they can be and play a full Finance Business Partner support service, recognised as excellent by colleagues across the business.
What we are looking for from you:
* Educated to degree standard with a professional accounting qualification and relevant post qualification commercial experience including revenue recognition accounting.
* Experience of working in a business facing finance business partnering role and a pragmatic and adaptable outlook, recognising the sector and business is embarking on a period of significant change.
* Good leadership and influencing skills, both verbal and written, with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes. Works in a collaborative and open way.
* A good relationship builder, who is able to support and challenge colleagues from different functions in a constructive and effective manner.
* Takes ownership for own professional development.
* The role holder will be required to interpret financial and commercial data, market trends and customer demands and expectations. Decisions will be made that fundamentally affect the profitability and development of the business.
* Utilises data/information to identify trends and analyse impact, opportunities, costs and risks to the business to balance commercial priorities.
* Ability to manage issues with political sensitivity in relation to internal stakeholders.
* The review, analysis and challenge of business performance, investment proposals and plans will require the role holder to use commercial judgement to ensure that risks and opportunities are identified and understood.
* The role holder will be expected to manage their own workload and prioritise appropriately.
* Key outputs from this role are to influence and deliver upon the business performance and commercial direction of the business.
* An additional constraint is ensuring that decisions taken do not put the business at unacceptable risk.
