The Controls Designer designs and develops software and hardware for installation in Aria Filtra products, meeting or exceeding Quality, Cost, and Productivity targets. The Controls Designer will design, develop, install, and troubleshoot for aftermarket software and hardware upgrades, modifications, and expansions of Aria Filtra systems.
This role will require travel for up to 25% of the time.
This position is part of the Software Engineering Department located in London, ON, and will be hybrid, going 3 times a week to the office.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
* Design, develop, install, and troubleshoot for aftermarket software and hardware upgrades, modifications, and expansions of Aria Filtra systems.
* Travel to customer sites, mainly in North America, to commission software and hardware upgrades including scheduling, communicating with end customers, performing the upgrade work, testing, troubleshooting, verifying work, and support warranty period.
* Provide technical support, viable upgrade options and solutions to engineering during bidding phase, design phase, execution phase, and warranty phase to meet or exceed Quality, Cost and Productivity targets.
* Collaborate with Trojan Technologies with best practices and lessons learned, and explore innovative ideas, new technologies, and machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Are you qualified? The essential requirements of the job include:
* BS Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalent degree with a minimum of 3 years of software and programming professional experience
* Or a minimum of 5 years of software and programming professional experience with Allen Bradley's PLC and HMI's.
* Programming, operating, and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLC’s, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, FlexLogix, SLC500, and MicroLogix.
* Software design with PanelView HMI’s, RSView32, FTView SE, Wonderware, and Visual Basic.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
* Ignition
* Schneider Electric Modicon Control Expert.
