JOB DESCRIPTION
NOV is looking for a Fabricator Welder based in Middleton in Greater Manchester.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for producing quality fabrications and welds using fabrication and welding equipment required for the process in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
* Read engineering drawings, precision measuring instruments and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance and tooling requirements.
* Experience with Mig and Tig welding techniques.
* Load parts utilising overhead lifting equipment, operating controls, de-burring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
* Identify problems prior to production runs, then start and observe quality of fabrications and welds to detect any other malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust control media as required.
* Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
* Perform any other work-related tasks and duties in accordance with the business needs.
* Comply with all NOV Company, Quality + HSE policies and procedures.
* Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager.

* Must have served a recognized apprenticeship.

Qualifications
* Time Served apprenticeship within a Fabrication/welding discipline, equivalent to either City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3.
Experience
* Operating a variety of fabrication and welding equipment.
Skills, Training or Special Knowledge
* Understanding of welding materials and processes in accordance with ASME standards.
* Computer literacy.
* Manual handling, slinging and lifting.
* HSE awareness.
