Ability to work with colleagues in Radiology and across the Trust to strengthen the range of expertise that can be offered to clinicians. Dynamic forward thinking innovative individual, who can help with service expansion and income generation. To be responsible for the provision of a patient focussed imaging service using training, education, audit and research to maintain best practice and improve patient care. To demonstrate expert practice in their field, undertaking and reporting of images. To establish, develop and co-ordinate research and audit projects within Imaging working with research audit leads. To meet with patients and their families to discuss procedures and explain results. To make and receive referrals direct from teams within the hospital and other centres. To communicate effectively with internal and external agencies. To adhere to Trust and departmental policies and procedures. A formal job plan will be agreed between the appointee and the Clinical Director on behalf of the Divisional Director, three months after the commencement date of the appointee, or sooner, dependent on service requirements. Interests in Head & neck imaging or Thoracic imaging or Gynaecology imaging would be welcome. The job plan for the first three months will be based on the provisional timetable shown below and may well be subject to change, dependent on service requirements. The Job Plan will be a prospective agreement that sets out a consultants equivalent duties, responsibilities and objectives for the coming year. It should provide a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external. In addition it should include personal objectives, including details of their link to wider service objectives, and details of the support required by the consultant to fulfill the job plan and the objectives. This post is to complement primarily to cope with an increased work load and demand as well as replacing a Consultant Radiologist. Provisional assessment of Programmed Activities in Job Plan: There is expectation that fixed sessions of clinical activity will need to change between job plans to ensure the needs of the department are met. Flexibility is also expected to cover leave and un-expected workloads. This is a departmental policy. This is a 10PA post which can be increased to 11PA or 12PA if the post holder so wishes. It is essential for the candidates to have the fellowship from the Royal College of Radiologists. The on call rota is 1:10, covering the hours of 5-9pm during weekdays and 9am-5pm during the weekend.
