The reform includes major changes at governance and executive level and relocating its Head Office from London to Oldham.

Brief about the role
UKIM is looking for an experienced individual with demonstrated relevant experience of media engagement, marketing (including digital), and communications with internal and external stakeholders, along with suitable relevant qualifications, diverse skills, and sector knowledge.
The Senior Manager – Media, Marketing and Communications will be overall responsible for the various functions/scope of the Media, Marketing and Communications Department, including administrative matters, human resources aspects, budget preparation, monitoring and reporting, along with providing strategic leadership to the team, setting objectives for the team members, conducting monthly 1-2-1 performance reviews, developing teams, and coordinating fundraising campaigns/activities.
Main Responsibilities:
* Support the Executive Director to strategise and lead on related organisational development activities and projects for the whole UKIM.
* Be responsible for administrative aspects related to the departmental work.
* Provide leadership to the dynamic team and oversee the performance of team members regularly, providing guidance and supervision as required.
* Develop and lead on an effective and coherent Community Fundraising Strategy along with work plans and defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor departmental performance.
* Identify strategic fundraising partners and engage with relevant stakeholders to enhance UKIM’s donor base and fundraising profile.
* Develop various Community Fundraising Campaigns, outreach appeals, and secure sponsorships from small and medium businesses.
* Prepare departmental budget, monitor income targets, and prepare quarterly reports for the Executive Director and Trustees.
* Regularly coordinate with the Finance Team and Media, Marketing & Comms Team regarding fundraising income status.
* Engage with high net worth donors and identify sponsorship for profile-based projects.
* Ensure project reports are shared with respective donors.
* Work with other Heads and Managers to ensure effective delivery of all fundraising campaigns and activities.
* Effectively communicate with other departments to coordinate and streamline all fundraising activities.
* Manage a dynamic team to ensure UKIM’s programmes/projects maximise fundraising income.
* Undertake horizon scanning, continually review sector trends, and identify innovative fundraising ideas.
* Comply with regulatory bodies' guidelines including FRSB, ICO (including GDPR), Charity Commissions, etc.
* Produce brief reports regarding departmental activities and plans.
* Keep the organisational CRM system up to date and maintain regular contact with donors.
* Handle and respond to any donor complaints in a timely manner.
* Undertake recruitment for casual workers engaged during campaigns/appeals.
* Ensure that all fundraising campaigns/events information is always up to date on UKIM’s website.
Person Specification:
* Education at a minimum of Graduation, preferably a Master’s in a relevant field.
* Experience of raising a charity’s profile through developing and delivering creative, engaging Community Fundraising Campaigns and organising fundraising events.
* Experience of managing a WordPress website CMS, including SEO and site navigation.
* Excellent writing skills and the ability to create content that is clear and engaging.
* High level of digital competence and creativity to support strategic goals.
* Experience in managing budgets and developing team strategies.
* Knowledge of varied funding sources and structures, and BME and faith-based communities.
* Extensive knowledge of a wide range of fundraising techniques.
* Understanding of the Charity Act and other legislation affecting fundraising ventures.
* Strong inter-personal communication skills.
