Job summary Due to a promotion, we are looking to appoint an autonomous and dynamic leader who will be responsible for, and lead the Humber Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (HDESP) to deliver eye screening services across the North and South Bank of the Humber. The Humber Diabetic Eye Screening Programme provides a high performing photographic eye screening service for diabetic patients (approximately 63,000 patients) for the early detection of diabetic eye disease. The post holder will be responsible for implementing and managing systems and processes to ensure that all services are delivered in accordance with Group-wide policies and the National Screening Service Specification. In addition, the post holder will be integral in the exciting service expansion and roll-out of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) surveillance pathway for patients with diabetic eye disease. Main duties of the job The Programme Manager will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of all operational issues within HDESP. They will ensure the effective delivery of services to patients in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints. The post has direct line management responsibility for the managers within HDESP and through them for the delivery and performance management of the services. In the first instance this will include the review and where necessary the development of mechanisms for performance management at the programme level and workforce development. The post holder will work with the Clinical Lead to develop and deliver a strategic vision and ensure service changes meet internal and external expectations and standards. The post holder will need to understand the business requirements and implement plans for service improvement using modernisation techniques and involve patients to ensure changes to services meet patients' expectations as well as ensuring the required capacity to meet key clinical performance targets.
