Job summary Neonatal Unit Part time role - 30 hours per week. 5 x 6 hour days. The housekeeper role in the Neonatal unit supports the team to ensure that the unit environment is clean, tidy and welcoming for the patients and their families. This role can make a significant difference to the experience of families using the service and you would be contributing to the care and wellbeing of families and morale of the team. You will be supporting parents and relatives whilst they are with the baby for very long period of time each day and supporting the team to keep the unit safe. The unit is very proud of the environment we have for our families and is looking for someone who takes pride in their work and is organised with good planning skills. The post holder also needs to have good communication and be responsive to the emotional needs of families. Main duties of the job This is an ideal post for someone who enjoys working with people and as part of a team. You will support the Neonatal Unit team in many ways including ensuring that the unit is safe, clean and tidy and well stocked with essential equipment. These duties will also include supporting with collecting and delivering items between departments. You will support families by ensuring that the parent and family facilities are prepared for use and will support the team by orientating families to the unit facilities. The post includes administration duties to support the team e.g. by ordering equipment, reporting faults and supporting the team to ensure a good supply of parent information.
