Assistant Client Money Manager (Part-Time)
3 days per week, with 1 day required in our London office
The Role:
As an Assistant Client Money Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day management of client money processes and ensuring compliance with FCA regulations, particularly the CASS5 rules. This part-time role offers an opportunity to contribute to key financial processes while working closely with senior team members to maintain operational efficiency, assist with audits, and help develop client money procedures.
You will be involved in the administration of client money, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing valuable support to the Client Money Manager in driving improvements to processes and ensuring operational accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the daily administration and management of client money in line with FCA requirements (CASS5).
2. Support the Client Money Manager in reviewing and improving the efficiency of the client money operating model.
3. Help produce and distribute Client Money Management Information (MI) to internal and external stakeholders.
4. Contribute to the resolution of any audit or regulatory review actions related to client money.
5. Assist in handling client money calculations, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
6. Work with the IBA team and other departments to maintain and update client money policies and procedures.
7. Support in leading the central repository of CASS-related information and reporting.
8. Assist with the coordination and execution of client money audits.
9. Stay updated on regulatory and statutory standards related to client money processes.
10. Engage with internal and external partners to ensure effective handling of client money processes.
Skills & Attributes:
1. Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
2. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
3. Good communication and relationship-building skills, especially with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Proactive, with a problem-solving attitude and a willingness to learn.
5. Organised, with the ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines.
Qualifications:
1. Ideally holds or is working towards an accountancy qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA).
2. Experience in client money management or a finance-related role within the insurance sector is helpful.
3. Familiarity with FCA CASS5 rules and IBA processes is helpful but not crucial for entry-level candidates.
