Part-Time 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Reception (North Tyneside)
We need a dedicated and empathetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception pupil at a school in North Tyneside.
This part-time role, working Monday to Friday, 12:30-3:30, is ideal for a committed professional experienced in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including complex sensory and emotional regulation needs.
- Providing direct support to the pupil with curriculum-related tasks under the teacher's guidance.
- Assisting the pupil in fully participating in classroom and extracurricular activities.
- Supporting the implementation of the pupil's EHCP and monitoring their progress.
- Offering feedback to the teacher to aid in pupil assessments.
- Providing elements of personal care as required.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting.
- A full and relevant Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in a childcare-related discipline.
- Experience supporting non-verbal children.
- Knowledge and practical experience of a 'Total Communication' approach, incorporating non-verbal, language, and symbol-based methods.
