Senior Manufacturing Engineer

The Role
A Precision engineering company who is going through an exciting expansion is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their manufacturing facility in the West Midlands. Working with Aerospace, Automotive & Oil & Gas industries, this opportunity offers development and progression.
What will you be doing?
1. Support Manufacturing activities by directing best methods of manufacture.
2. Deliver technical engineering support to both production and quality team.
3. Lead internal facing engineering to deliver continued growth to the business; target areas of improvement using both personal experience and research bolstered by a LEAN approach.
4. Lead front-end engineering to deliver continued growth to the business; target potential areas within the business that require additional work and grow portfolio and capabilities.
5. Support New business team to target sectors of growth and deliver engineering solutions to prospective customers by face-to-face presentations or by technical instructions.
6. Produce in-depth timing plans to support production on NPI projects.
7. Plan and design the manufacturing process to the shop floor.
8. Closely support the operational team including programming CNC Milling and Turning machines to meet customer demand.
9. Assist manufacturing engineers when planning work to deliver best method of manufacture.
10. Support Quality by assisting with metrology methods.
What will you bring to the party?
1. Must have at least 10 years' experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or Supervisor.
2. Experience in all fields of Mechanical machining and all types of materials.
3. Vast experience in product roll out and production release of parts.
4. Experience in a subcontract machine shop.
5. Experience of CNC machining in a precision engineering environment.
6. High level of CNC programming competency in Fanuc Heidenhain languages.
7. Must have programming experience in both turning and milling capabilities, ideally up to 5 axis (3+2) with strong knowledge of setting, operating, and programming.
8. Experienced in 3D modelling, preferably with Solidworks and Visi.
9. Offline programming, familiarity with VISI CAM package highly desired.
10. Must have a high level of knowledge in both GD&T and drawing standards.
11. Must have a high level of knowledge surrounding technical specifications on materials, metrology, surface treatments, hardness methods.
12. Must have knowledge of tooling and fixtures in addition to lean manufacturing principles, to aid process improvements and efficiencies in machining capabilities.
