Project Engineer
The Role
As part of the Engineering function based in the Region, the role is to coordinate and manage both internal Support Functions and sub-contract Supply Chain partners in the multi-disciplined portfolio of work with Severn Trent Water. You will coordinate and manage the phases listed under Key Responsibilities for projects that capture some of our clients' most critical operational assets, working with highly experienced teams and playing a key role in projects ranging from £1m to £30m. The role supports the project delivery teams by managing concept development and detailed design solutions based on client and site-specific requirements for water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
ECI Phase
1. Attend site meetings and client meetings
2. Coordinate the Design through the ECI Phase working with the Project Manager
3. Work with the team to participate in VE, R&O and feasibility studies
4. Assist in writing ITTs - ensuring correct scope is included for each partner
5. Work with the Estimating Team throughout phases
6. Meet Stakeholders
Detailed Design Phase
1. Coordinate multidiscipline supply chain and Designers - working with PMs & M&E support
2. Issue draft drawings internally and to clients
3. Attend design meetings with clients and internally
4. Document control - Asite, SharePoint etc.
Construction Phase
1. Help transition from ECI & Detailed Design Phase to project delivery team
2. Procurement schedule input
3. Coordinate the technical query process
4. Coordinate multidiscipline supply chain and Designers - working with PMs & M&E support
5. Ensure delivery teams are aware of Handover requirements and preparation for this
6. Commissioning plan - ensure in place and understood
7. Collation and coordination of H&S file
Handover and Commissioning
1. Support the Delivery Team in achieving Handover
2. Effectively coordinate the issuing of all documents required for Completion
3. Coordinate uploading documentation required for Handover
4. Attend post-project review meetings
Key Measures and Targets
1. Delivery of project milestones on time and within budgetary constraints
2. Collaboration between the delivery team and the client
3. Ensuring tender and design proposals meet client and HSEQ requirements
4. Reduction in Carbon over baseline
5. Work to design out risk
6. Incorporate value engineering into ECI and delivery phases

1. Regional Managers, Contracts Managers, Procurement Department, Estimating Department, Planner, Project Managers, MEICA Managers & Site Delivery Teams

About you
Essential
1. Good working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme & Risk Management
2. Have a level of planning experience using Primavera P6 software or equivalent
3. Proficient with IT specifically full Office 365 suite - CAD software experience or similar
4. CSCS manager's card
5. Good level of document control, administrative duties
6. Takes the initiative with a 'can do' attitude
7. Excellent communication, people and team management skills, with the ability to influence and motivate
8. Ability to challenge issues and resolve problems to a conclusion
9. Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
10. Relevant CSCS Card (Either Experienced Technical Supervisor, Supervisory, Professionally Qualified Person, or Manager)
11. Background of working in some capacity as Management for a Civil Engineering project
12. Familiar with programme management and maintenance
13. Knowledge of health and safety legislation regarding safe work practices
