Location/Division Specific Information
The role of Divisional Engineering Project Manager will be based at our Loughborough, UK site and will support the Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD)

The Project Engineering Manager will lead LCD’s Divisional Engineering strategic improvement projects implementation and is responsible for managing project planning, scheduling, risk and resource management, budgeting, and the coordination of projects from conception to completion. This role requires strong leadership and communication as well as excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities. You should possess a deep understanding of engineering principles and practices, as well as a proven history of project management methodologies, with the ability to lead numerous projects simultaneously. Working collaboratively with local site teams you will ensure safety, compliance, quality assurance and that project goals are achieved in full, on time and within budget. A key aspect of this role will be developing the team’s skills and proficiencies while building an early asset management model as a standardised process.
A day in the Life :
1. Communication: Collaborating with team members, clients, and sponsors to ensure effective communication and alignment of project goals.
2. Stakeholder Management: Regular reviews with clients, vendors, contractors, and other sponsors to establish project requirements, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction. This includes running expectations and providing regular project updates within the division and local sites.
3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that engineering projects and processes meet relevant laws (local to region), regulations, and industry standards and that approvals are acquired and accurately documented.
4. Leadership: Leading, motivating and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams, providing mentorship and support and performance feedback to team members while resolving challenges to ensure successful project execution.
5. Project Planning: Developing project plans, defining objectives, and setting timelines while holding teams to account to landmarks.
6. Resource Management: Prioritising resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure project tasks are completed cost and time efficiently.
7. Budgeting and Cost Control: Management of project costs, preparing budget estimates, and implementing cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget.
8. Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and developing solutions to minimize their impact on project timelines.
9. Quality Assurance: Implementing quality processes to ensure project goals archived required standards and specifications and customer expectations. This involves conducting regular inspections, reviewing technical information, and leading all aspects of testing and validation processes. (IQ,OQ and PQ)
10. Project Reporting: Preparing regular progress updates, project documentation, and presentations for management and partners. This includes summarizing project status, highlighting key achievements, and identifying any issues or deviations from the project plan.
11. Continuous Improvement: Finding opportunities for process improvement and implementing standard methodologies to improve project efficiency and outcomes.
Keys to Success:
Education
Bachelor’s degree / equivalent in Engineering with appropriate experience
Experience
12. Previous experience in large and multifunctional Project Management Engineering experience
13. Working internationally across numerous sites in different regions
14. Familiarity with COMAH / DSEAR / ATEX and OSHA regulations
15. Chemical manufacturing / FMCG
16. PPI / Six Sigma / World Class Manufacturing
17. Validation Protocols
18. Experience working in a union environment and/or matrix organization.

29. Proven engineering leadership
30. Make timely decisions based on data, analysis, and risk assessment.
31. PC literate with a strong skill using Power BI, Databases, Outlook, and Excel.
32. Proven use of and qualified in lean methodologies.
33. Experience of maintaining and establishing relationships with authorities and agencies
34. Extensive knowledge of equipment purchasing and installation & performance contracts

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
39. This role is based on-site in Loughborough, UK. Travel will be required to support other parts of the LCD business.
