The Role:
As an Accountant – Shared Service, you will provide transactional financial support to entities within the EMEA and US regions. Your key responsibilities will include supporting in-country and plant controllers, managing the monthly close cycle, and ensuring financial and statutory reporting compliance. Additionally, you will prepare account reconciliations for review by in-country controllers. Success will be measured by timely and accurate transaction processing that enables an efficient and precise monthly close.
Please note, this role requires attendance at the site in Four Ashes, Wolverhampton. We are able to offer flexibility, but the expectation is that you will attend the site as needed.
How You Will Make an Impact:
* Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and master data.
* Execute monthly closing steps, including settlements, depreciation, and foreign exchange revaluations.
* Prepare and post journals with proper authorisation and relevant supporting documentation.
* Compile and distribute weekly and monthly financial reports.
* Perform intercompany reconciliations, covering balance sheets, profit & loss, loans, and interest.
* Prepare account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness, with consistent and explainable reconciling items.
* Coordinate timely research and resolution of reconciliation issues.
* Assist with audit requests and provide the necessary documentation.
* Engage with in-country controllers, plant controllers, and the Global Capex and Inventory controller.
* Perform other duties and projects as assigned, including additional shared-site accounting responsibilities.
* Complete EMEA VAT returns and reconciliations.
Creating Extraordinary Starts With:
* Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA)
* Strong analytical and presentation skills
* Experience with SAP or similar accounting software
* In-depth knowledge of financial reporting and analysis
* Prior knowledge of EMEA VAT flows and global payroll reconciliations will be beneficial
* Strong verbal and written communication, as well as presentation skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with a keen attention to detail
* Inquisitive and innovative mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement
* Proficiency in English is required
