We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and well-qualified teacher of Economics to teach Year 12 and 13 Economics A Level (AQA).

Economics Department Information
Girls are able to study Economics A Level; we follow the AQA syllabus, and there is a healthy uptake of the subject with an expected cohort of 50 in the coming academic year. In addition, the Head of Department makes regular contributions to the School’s Life Skills programme for all years from Year 7 to Year 13. Topics explored include budgeting, financial wellbeing, banking, debt and enterprise. Enrichment opportunities offered have included lectures, visits to businesses, a regular clinic, participation in essay competitions and Economics Club for younger Years. The Head of Department is supported by an able team of four LVI Ambassadors whose role it is to help market the department, contribute to Assembly and assist in running the Economics Club.
The Economics Department consists of two teachers and is located in our Old School House, an attractive historic building which houses the Sixth Form facilities with a collaborative spaces and excellent IT provision. The Department’s resources are shared with students and staff via MS Teams and include periodicals such as the Economist and a subscription to the FT. Both staff contribute and share high quality classroom and assessment resources.

The role is suitable for newly qualified and more experienced teachers, with applications being considered as they are received. The school reserves the right to appoint at any stage.
