Job Summary:
The Business Proposal Writer is responsible for developing high-quality proposals, RFP responses, and business presentations to secure new opportunities. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, research, and writing skills to effectively communicate our company's capabilities, value propositions, and competitive advantages.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Proposal Development: Write, edit, and format business proposals, RFP responses, and supporting documentation.
2. Content Research & Strategy: Conduct research to understand client needs, industry trends, and competitive positioning.
3. Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and technical teams to gather relevant information and align proposals with business objectives.
4. Customization & Compliance: Tailor proposals to meet client specifications while ensuring compliance with RFP guidelines.
5. Quality Assurance: Review proposals for clarity, coherence, grammar, and overall effectiveness.
6. Process Improvement: Maintain and update a repository of proposal templates, case studies, and standardized responses for efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
1. Experience: 4+ years in business proposal writing, RFP management, or related roles.
2. Writing Skills: Strong ability to draft compelling, persuasive, and error-free content.
3. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with business development, sales processes, and contract negotiations.
4. Technical Proficiency: Experience with proposal management tools (e.g., RFPIO, Loopio) and MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
5. Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and ensure consistency across documents.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certification: APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) certification is a plus.
2. Experience in B2B Sales Support: Understanding of business-to-business proposal strategies.
3. Graphic Design Skills: Basic proficiency in visual storytelling tools (Canva, Adobe InDesign) is an advantage.
