Warehouse Shift Leader
Joining our friendly and hardworking team as a Warehouse Shift Leader, you'll be on the front line dealing with orders, deliveries, and stock coming in and out of the business. As part of the branch team, you will play a vital role in our continued success, providing a first-class service.
What will I be doing?
1. Lead and coordinate the day to day activities of warehouse colleagues and team leader(s). This includes assigning tasks, monitoring productivity, ensuring safety and compliance with procedures, and maintaining efficient operations in accordance with the site KPIs and targets.
2. Responsible for resolving any issues or conflicts that may arise, as well as effectively communicating with management about any issues or concerns.
3. Maintain a safe and organised work environment, including enforcing safety regulations / processes & procedures.
4. Maximise the performance of the assigned areas within the department / shift by directing the daily, weekly, monthly activities to achieve productivity targets (LPH) and quality targets (Error rate).
5. Conduct people process elements e.g; Return to Work Interviews, Investigations & Disciplinary in line with company policies & procedures.
6. Provide team members with regular performance feedback to support colleagues.
7. Regularly review workload and capacities of the team, actively looking to improve on operational KPIs and targets.
8. Assist the Distribution Operations Managers in the everyday running of the DC.
9. Use throughputs and data to plan resources including workforce and mechanical handling equipment.
10. Plan using forecasts to ensure safe and efficient operation capable of meeting the demands of the business.
11. Plan, lead and implement continuous improvement solutions to existing processes and new objectives presented to the DC.
