Marlowe Fire & Security are the fastest growing fire & security business in the UK. From initial design, supply and installation, through to ongoing maintenance and monitoring, we maintain the capability to help prevent, detect and monitor Fire and Security risks for our customers up and down the country. We are currently looking to appoint a new Assistant Quantity Surveyor ideally based in Salford, Risley or Leicester.
Basic Salary – £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

Marlowe Fire & Security’s Assistant Quantity Surveyor will:
* Provide support to our highly successful Sales, Account Management and Operational Delivery Teams in the review, negotiation, and governance of our private and public sector customer contracts.
* Support the Commercial Contracts Manager and safeguard our interests by ensuring that all contractual risks are quickly identified, documented, and mitigated.
* Review Customer contracts of purchase, utilising Standard Form Contracts and our Customer’s bespoke contracts.
* Prepare reports for the Commercial Contracts Manager to negotiate contracts with our customer’s contractual and commercial teams.
* Assess and highlight key contractual risks to relevant stakeholders and support in risk mitigation.
* Communicate with all interested parties so that all understand the terms of the contract and their obligations under it.
* Review and renegotiate existing contracts.
* Assist in gathering relevant information and documents to resolve contractual disputes.
* Assist in resolving payment issues by following the terms of contract.
* Focus on the administration tasks of keeping accurate records of contracts, their status and progress.
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For

* Experience in contract law and contract negotiation or a Graduate with a degree in contract law or quantity surveying.
* Knowledge of the Standard Contract Forms, and relevant legislation would be beneficial.
* Good knowledge of construction practices and details, beneficial but not essential.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to forge and maintain relationships.
* Ability to manage a busy workload is essential and to be able to prioritise, quickly find solutions and to focus on critical issues when independent decision making is required.
* Articulate, credible and able to persuade and negotiate with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
* Analytical, reflective and possess reasoning skills coupled with the ability to solve problems.
* Self-motivated, and able to work autonomously.
* Collaborative, supportive and able to demonstrate a commitment to customer service excellence.
* Full driving licence (the role will involve some travel).
