Job Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation: Prepare and cook dishes according to the recipes and standards set by the head/sous chef, ensuring food safety standards are adhered to at all times.
2. Events: Required to work evening/day functions, weddings, corporate events, high-end diners on The Warrior, Boathouse 4 & 7, The Victory & Mary Rose.
3. Station Management: Oversee the production of all dishes assigned to your station, maintain cleanliness in line with policies and procedures.
4. Quality Control: Maintain high quality standards for all dishes, ensuring presentation and taste are considered at all times.
5. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with all other team members and assist/support all colleagues where necessary.
6. Menu Development: Collaborate with head chef to develop and taste new recipes, providing suggestions for improvement or innovation.
7. Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring equipment is in good working order.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience working as a Commis Chef or similar role.
2. Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
3. Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
5. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
6. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
7. Works according to the BaxterStorey core values.
