The Procurement Manager will drive global strategic sourcing aligned with supply chain objectives, ensuring operational quality, cost efficiency, and innovation while meeting regulatory, ethical, and sustainability standards. Managing an annual budget of approximately £100m, the role involves a balanced mix of domestic (20%) and international (20%) travel.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sourcing Strategy:
* Develop supplier segmentation strategies and align them with the supply chain strategy.
* Collaborate on category management strategies and conduct global supply market analysis.
* Support strategic decisions like make vs. buy, supply chain footprint, and risk mitigation.
1. Procurement Execution:
* Negotiate cost reduction and risk mitigation strategies with suppliers.
* Lead competitive bid processes and vendor transitions.
* Foster long-term strategic supplier partnerships and manage procurement projects.
1. Contract & Supplier Management:
* Oversee contract management and supplier relationship management (SRM) processes.
* Monitor and report on supplier performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
* Benchmark and track cost reductions and performance metrics.
1. Technical & Compliance:
* Support technical supplier audits and ensure adherence to sustainability, technical, and regulatory requirements.
* Influence product innovation and compliance through collaboration with NPD and marketing teams.
1. Process Optimization:
* Develop and manage procurement KPIs, price lists, and standardize procurement tools and processes.
Requirements:
* Experience: Minimum 5 years in FMCG or regulated, fast-paced environments. Proven success in cost/value delivery and procurement strategy development.
* Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, project management, and collaboration skills.
* Desirable: Degree in a relevant subject, experience in pharmaceuticals, and CIPS qualification.
Reporting & Interfaces:
* Reports to: Supply Chain Director.
* Key Interfaces: Supply Planning, Logistics, Marketing, NPD, Finance, Legal, and Quality teams.
* No direct or indirect reports; peers include Supply Planning Manager and Head of Logistics.
Performance Metrics:
* Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), supplier quality, lead time, cost savings, and ESG compliance audit scores.
