Engineering Project Manager required for a process engineering company and manufacturer of a wide range of products such as heat exchangers and pipework based in the Elland area.
This position is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of assigned projects by managing all aspects of project execution. Key tasks include engaging with customers to capture requirements, supporting project teams, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Engineering Project Manager Job Overview
1. Oversee preparation and execution of all project phases and deliverables, including creating project briefs, timelines, budgets, and tracking progress.
2. Identify and resolve technical issues to guarantee complete customer satisfaction.
3. Support technical and sales teams in the quotation stage by preparing commercial and technical proposals, along with cost and price estimates.
4. Manage project risks, actions, issues, and decisions.
5. Track project progress across timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
6. Present project financial data, including accurate budgeting, forecasts, cost analyses, and invoicing.
7. Balance project resource needs by accurately reflecting demand within the business forecasting system.
8. Manage stakeholders, both internally and externally, including customers and suppliers; handle subcontractor management and generate Requests for Quotes (RFQs) when needed.
9. Control project scope and contract changes with customers.
10. Report, escalate, and address project issues, risks, or potential setbacks early and clearly.
11. Promote best practices in project management throughout the company and suggest areas for improvement.
12. Stay current on industry trends to spot potential opportunities or risks.
13. Comply with management system standards, including health, safety, environmental, and quality policies, ensuring all projects adhere to company guidelines.
Engineering Project Manager Job Requirements
1. Strong understanding of project management principles.
2. Engineering background through hands-on experience or formal education.
3. Excellent communication skills to build key relationships.
4. Solid understanding of mechanical or electrical engineering.
5. Background within Process Engineering or Food Engineering would be ideal but not essential.
6. Formal project management certification.
