Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD) in both one-to-one and small-group settings. Assist with personal care when required, ensuring the safety, dignity and well-being of students. Collaborate with the class teacher to implement personalised learning activities that cater to individual student needs. Support the development of students' communication, social and emotional skills through structured interventions. Promote positive behaviour and engagement, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Assist in the preparation of educational resources and classroom displays to enhance student learning experiences. Monitor and report student progress, providing regular updates to the teaching team and parents/guardians as required. Adhere to the school’s safeguarding, health and safety policies, ensuring a secure and nurturing environment for all students. What We Are Looking For: We are looking for an individual who has a strong commitment to working with children with special educational needs and who possesses the following qualities: Experience working with children or young people with learning disabilities, particularly SLD, is highly desirable. Patience, empathy and the ability to build positive relationships with students who have diverse needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to different learning styles. An understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection policies. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A flexible and positive approach to work.
