Bracken Ward is the Older Peoples functional acute admissions ward, caring for those from the age of 65, who are experiencing acute mental health crisis.
Main duties of the job
* To provide generic care and planned interventions to the patients/clients within the Older Peoples Mental Health Acute Care Service.
* Provide care to patients to maintain their personal hygiene, physical health and psychological comfort ensuring that their privacy and dignity is always maintained.
* Under the supervision of registered health care professionals assist the healthcare team with the provision of clinical care for a defined group of patients.
* Ensure patient safety is maintained and patient experience is positive by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with respect, dignity, and courtesy in accordance with Trust values.
* Takes leadership from Assistant Practitioner within a delegation framework for agreed tasks.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship set by the Home Office and the skilled worker visa occupation list.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ2 training or equivalent experience.
* Willing and able to undertake all Trust mandatory training requirements.
* NVQ III in care or modules relevant to the area.
* Willingness to undergo job development and training, undertaking minimum skill including English and Maths.
Experience
* Working in a caring environment (professionally or at home), which includes Mental Health.
* Effective patient/client care skills, which includes effective communication.
* Able to evidence working in a caring environment or worked in a voluntary position.
* Experience of dealing with the public.
