Leading contractor specialising in utilities projects, specifically high voltage (HV) requires a SHEQ Advisor to offer their expertise in the management of safety, health, environmental and quality matters. The main purpose of the role is to put in place robust health and safety policies, making sure that the company complies with legislation and industry best practices, working with all levels of the business to achieve a safe working environment for everyone involved in their projects. The role: Maintain and promote health, safety, environmental and quality programmes Ensure these programmes are implemented across the organisation Make sure client SHEQ standards and legislation is adhered to Monitor / analyse SHEQ performance - suggest and manage improvements where necessary Carry out site and CDM audits on both direct and sub-contract teams Make sure all relevant documentation is in place Attend relevant client meetings Induct all starters so that they are aware of the company SHEQ process Ensure all paperwork is completed, kept up-to-date and stored in the appropriate place Put together and present monthly KPIs Investigate route causes of any accidents, implement measures to prevent them from happening again and complete investigation reports Make sure all staff receive SHEQ training and identify any gaps in training where more is required Play an active part in employee representative meetings Ensure adherence to accident reporting structures / protocols, as called for under RIDDOR, including disclosure of near misses The person: Experienced as a SHEQ Advisor / HSQE Advisor in the power / HV industry, working on substation projects (gained with the National Grid or a DNO, such as UK Power Networks) NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5 qualified BESC and Persons tickets EUSR or CSCS card (health and safety) Experienced in accident investigations and writing reports, using Word and Excel This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor with experience in the HV industry, who's looking to take their career up a level with a reputable name in the sector.
