REED are currently working with a growing private healthcare business who work in partnership with NHS trusts across the UK. This role is based at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Northfield, Birmingham. They are seeking a highly organised, proactive and confident communicator as a Theatre Logistics Coordinator to support the theatre teams in the hospital. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of consumable deliveries to the hospital and distributing these out to all 14 theatres as well as managing stock levels.
Salary: £23,000
Hours: 35 hours a week, Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

Day to day duties include:
1. Distribute all received stock, goods and equipment including NHS Supply Chain orders to the appropriate areas within Theatres, Recovery, Logistics and surrounding Departments. This will include ambient bone product.
2. Goods receipting of soft and consumable items in accordance with stock management systems.
3. Support with the completion of consumable stock takes in the storeroom and other associated store areas and advising of any stock shortages or stock outs.
4. General housekeeping and tidying of all areas assigned to the role including storeroom, overflow rooms, Recovery Storeroom.
5. Emptying of rubbish within storage cages moving them to the designated disposal areas whilst returning all empty cages back to the external stores.
6. Liaise and communicate with the external stores around the delivery and receiving of orders in a timely manner to avoid disruption to the department.
7. Communicate with couriers and companies around the delivery and returns of items.
8. Completing other associated job duties reasonable and applicable to the banding and job role as the above list is not exhaustive.
The ideal candidate for this role:
1. Ideally you will have some stores, stock control or inventory management experience previously.
2. Must be a proactive person with good prioritisation and time management skills.
3. Must be fast, in terms of being a fast thinker and a fast mover.
4. This is an active role within the hospital, which requires walking around the theatres and lifting stock that can be heavy.
5. Need to have a good strength of character.
6. Enjoys working in a role where you can make a difference and improve the care given to patients.
