Our client is an exceptionally well funded and demonstrably successful Oncology focused Biotech based in central London.
The growth of the business has created the need for a senior individual to join in the role of Asset Lead.
This is a phenomenal opportunity for an established Asset Lead or programme professional with solid depth of early stage Oncology development experience.
This role will be absolutely key in leading the planning, co-ordination and the efficient execution of the company’s oncology programmes from the point of transition into development through to out licensing.
Working collaboratively with the Development Team, Business Development, the Scientific Affairs Group and other functional team members both internal and external to the organisation.
The company is still relatively compact but is certainly not without prestige in both the Biotech and Oncology talent it has already attracted.
Responsibilities
· Lead the development and delivery of the asset strategy in line with the agreed TPP and business inflection milestones through implementation of the asset strategy plan.
· Overarching leadership of the asset strategy for one or more assigned assets, overseeing all aspects and phases of development from in-license to out-license working closely with all subject matter expert stakeholders.
· Provide point of contact leadership for the assets’ needs.
· Track delivery of the program vs the plans, ensuring all required internal progress reporting is made.
· Proactively identify program issues and risks and develops contingency and mitigation plans for resolution of issues.
· Responsible for financial aspects of the programmes
· Lead and contribute to regulatory engagements and filing packages.
· Contribute to study (clinical and non-clinical) protocols and related study documents.
· Create and maintain healthy, creative, relationships with external partners; helping to support and influence where required.
· Develop and implement suitable program management systems, processes and procedures as required to support the management of the portfolio and future business requirements
Qualifications
· Advanced degree in life sciences. PhD desirable
· Robust wide ranging experience covering early / mid phase pharmaceutical drug development, leading matrix cross functional teams within oncology .
· Extensive multi-disciplinary program leadership and global project management skills
· Wide ranging knowledge of the commercial oncology landscape, combined with commercial awareness linking asset clinical data sets to potential commercial value.
· Understanding of biotech business value drivers and key inflection points. Experience linking drug development milestones to valuation models.
· Experience of maximising value of data generated across the development landscape.
· Experience in the in licencing and / or out licensing of assets
· Strategic vendor relationship management.
· Robust understanding and knowledge of global regulatory submissions and approval processes for clinical research and development,
Role is "common sense" hybrid with a Central London (W1) office.
Salary circa £100 - £150K + bonus & generous benefits.
