Currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer - High Voltage Systems on a permanent staff basis for a specialist provider of electrical engineering services and equipment based in Kintore, Aberdeenshire.
The post holder will provide electrical technical support for clients and the Operations Team, with a particular emphasis on HV jointing and switchgear maintenance within the oil and gas and Renewables sectors. This role involves both onshore support planning and site execution, including offshore / international assignments.
Responsibilities:
* Planning and executing HV jointing and switchgear maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
* Providing electrical technical support and advice to company personnel and clients.
* Preparing scopes of work, operational test procedures, and reviewing / amending field service reports.
* Ensuring all electrical work activities are carried out safely and to a high standard under the permit to work system where applicable.
* Actively participating in the company safety management system and competency management system.
* Assisting in implementing changes to improve team efficiency.
* Promoting excellent customer relations at the worksite.
* Performing offshore / onshore work for clients, including overseas assignments.
* Working pack generation and conducting site surveys to ensure accurate planning and execution of projects.
* Developing and managing material requirements for projects.
* Overseeing project cost control to ensure projects are completed within budget.
* Mentoring and providing guidance to other support engineers.
Experience / Qualifications:
* An HNC qualification in Electrical Engineering, as a minimum, is essential.
* CompEx 01-04 certification is essential.
* Applicants should hold HV Switching and System Control (C&G0672) certification.
* Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
* Hazardous area, HV jointing and switchgear maintenance and testing experience is essential.
* Applicants should have previous offshore experience.
* Experience with fibre optic systems and technologies would be preferred.
