This role supports learners in both independent and collaborative study, maintaining an efficient and user-friendly learning environment. Job Title: Library Assistant Position: Mon-Fri, 9am to 4pm Role type: Temporary Ongoing – Approx 2/3 months Location: Ystrad Mynach Salary: £13p/h to £15p/h including holiday pay Day-to-day of the role: Assist the Learning Centre Co-ordinator with resource collection and administration tasks, including cataloguing new stock, stock taking, and organisation. Maintain a proactive presence on the Learning Centre floor, helping users with college systems, services, and software, and performing basic digital troubleshooting. Support learners in their study and skill development, working both individually and in groups, in planned and informal settings. Provide advice and guidance on the use of all materials, equipment, and resources available in the Learning Centres. Familiarise and support users with digital tools and technology-enhanced learning resources, such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and other cloud-based college platforms. Participate in the development and delivery of user education and induction sessions. Engage in activities that promote the Learning Centre and its services, including guiding tours and participating in college open events. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred. Strong organisational and administrative skills. Proficient in using digital tools and platforms, with a willingness to learn new technologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse groups of learners. Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to apply for an enhanced DBS. EWC registration or willingness to apply.
