Role OverviewAbout the RoleWorking alongside our dispatch and transport teams, the main responsibilities of a Class 1 Trunk HGV Driver include:
Operating a Class 1 HGV for trunking routes between depots (distributions centres of cold stores), maintaining compliance with all traffic laws, driving regulations, and company policies.
Carrying out pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with regulations, and reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
Completing all required paperwork and electronic records promptly and accurately.
Ensuring accurate and secure loading and unloading of goods.
Communicating effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding any delays or issues.
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment within the vehicle.

Working Hours
Rotating shift pattern:
Hours of work: Two-week rotating rota.
Week 1 – Sunday night to Friday night, 6 nights, 23:00 – 09:00, overtime paid after 60 hours.
Week 2 – Monday night to Friday night, 5 nights, 23:00 – 09:00, overtime paid after 50 hours.Benefits

Essential SkillsIt is essential that you have:
Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence and a minimum of 2 years of experience
Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
Good understanding of driver’s hours and working time directive regulations
Ability to work independently
Strong attention to detail and safety
Excellent time management
