Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
Our rotational programme is a fantastic opportunity for a physiotherapist. With rotations across acute hospital inpatients, outpatients and community rehabilitation, this role will support the development of a physiotherapist who is looking to gain a range of experiences during the early stages of their career.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients to stay healthy, when they need it most.
Job responsibilities
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join the Physiotherapy service working at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (RDUH Eastern services). We have vacancies on our Band 5 rotational programme and are keen to receive applications from Physiotherapists who are currently working in registered roles and from undergraduates due to qualify in the summer of 2025.
This rotational role will allow successful applicants to develop their clinical skills and reasoning through working across acute and community settings, facilitating the completion of a preceptorship programme where appropriate.
Specialities include: acute respiratory medicine, ICU, neurology (including stroke), general medicine, surgery, T&O, health for older people and community rehabilitation. Effective communication, competent assessment skills, sound knowledge of the hospital discharge process and a patient-centred approach to Physiotherapy must be possessed by the applicant.
Whilst the successful applicants will frequently be expected to work as autonomous practitioners there will be strong links with the multidisciplinary team working in the hospital. There will also be opportunities to work closely with senior therapists to enable continued professional development.
This post carries an expectation to work flexibly over 7 days, including weekends, bank holidays and on the on-call respiratory rota. It is essential that the applicant has a valid driver's licence and has access to a roadworthy vehicle for use at work.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Between 8am to 8pm across 7 days.
