Job Description
Job Duties:
1. Provide one-on-one support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an educational setting
2. Assist students with their learning and development according to their individual education plans
3. Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for SEN students
4. Collaborate with teachers and other staff to implement strategies to support SEN students
5. Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary
Required Qualifications:
6. Valid DBS check
7. Previous experience working with SEN students
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
9. Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs
Education:
10. GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths
11. Additional qualifications in Special Education or Teaching Assistance are desirable
Experience:
12. Experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
13. Demonstrated ability to support students with SEN effectively
Knowledge and Skills:
14. Understanding of various Special Educational Needs and associated support strategies
15. Knowledge of relevant educational policies and procedures
16. Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
17. Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
18. Training in areas such as Makaton, PECS, or Team-Teach
Working Conditions:
19. Work primarily within a school setting
20. Full-time hours, typically Monday to Friday
21. Temporary position with the possibility of extension
