We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly from groups currently under-represented, including people with disabilities, those from minority ethnic communities or from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds
This post is based within the council’s Anti-Poverty Service the successful candidate will work closely with the Advice Shop to promote financial inclusion and alleviate poverty
This post will bring together learning from across West Lothian, Glasgow and East Renfrewshire, and engage with local partners within West Lothian to identify additional data sources to augment the Child Poverty Index.
The Child Poverty Index model allows identification of unmet need in communities with high levels of poverty but low levels of benefit uptake, using data that can provide insight e.g. education support, high levels of debt or food insecurity. This will help identify households with children in poverty, particularly those with unmet need not identified in other datasets. This post will also support local partners to make use of the data and monitor how this is being used to inform decision making.
This post will also collate and analyse local and national information related to poverty helping services to improve the quality and the delivery of services and policies to make them more meaningful and impactful.
There will be a requirement to deliver training and presentations on the findings and actions implemented as part of the research.
The role will also lead on sharing impact with the Improvement Service to support the development of materials (such as case studies) that would enable other local authorities to replicate the approach.
